AST (Automated System Testing) is an Avaloq Banking System-based tool for Test Automation
Automation is the booster rocket that enables organizations to increase worker productivity, raise efficiency, lower productive failures and cut overall quality related costs. It is a well-documented fact that the companies with the most automation per worker also enjoy the least productive issues. Makes you wonder why Test Automation is still viewed as one of the dark arts in Software Testing. AST is changing that!
AST delivers users automated testing by removing cumbersome test script creation, maintenance, and data creation. Also, AST eliminates the excessive effort and complexity of traditional testing methods. Finally, AST not only provides details about what has passed and failed but further reduces risk with AST Analytics which presents a progression of coverage, as well as, elements that have been completely missed during testing (it has happened). This provides a more holistic view of release readiness.
We believe that QA teams can allow organizations to speed up project deliverables while distributing exhaustively tested software. However, this kind of comprehensive testing of Avaloq systems has traditionally been complex, time-consuming, and expensive.
It is easy to see why many testing teams have had to settle for the manual testing processes with grave constraints on time and resources. My point here is that regardless of how mature your manual testing is, your manual testing is simply not scalable enough to handle the future of testing. Automation is quickly becoming the default approach for many testing situations (https://www.qasymphony.com/blog/5-trends-future-software-testing/) why?? Because complexity is not linear.
As more and more connectedness is desired by users and system of systems are implemented, manual testing abilities reach their limits. Furthermore, shifting left is only a band aid for the problems of complexity. Ultimately, making the manual testing bottleneck more visible. Note: There is also a trend toward shifting right – which stresses more productive monitoring. It does not matter whether you are shifting left or right, what is essential is a way to use machines to support manual capabilities. These are the problems we are solving with AST.
Our vision is to make automated testing easier, transparent and effective. Going forward, I will be writing more about problems in the testing process, Avaloq automation and solutions provided through AST.
